Aleksejevs v Abdulaev. IBO European title fight preview
Dimitrios Goutas shone in the heart of the Cardiff City defence as they held off Stoke City 0-0 away from home. Lewis Travis was subbed on to help Blackburn win 3-1 at Norwich. Sheffield Wednesday did not include Liam Palmer in the squad once more as they fell 1-0 at Bristol City. Jacob Chapman was not in the team either as Huddersfield played out a 0-0 draw with visitors Watford.
Dimitrios Goutas played all 90 minutes keeping a clean sheet for Cardiff. The Greek defender found himself in the heat of the action many times as the match was end-to-end.
Cardiff’s 40.5% possession shows they were mostly on the backfoot but still in the game. Out of their 11 shots, three went on target. 78.6% tackles won could be credited to Dimitrios Goutas’ presence at the back.
This draw means Cardiff sit in 7th, in between Preston and Sunderland.

Lewis Travis was subbed on in the 64th minute with the score at 3-0. His presence helped the team see out the win despite a red card for Scott Wharton. A Sam Szmodics double and an early Dolan goal made sure the visitors left with all three points.
The win sees Blackburn remain tenth, sitting a point behind Hull City in a tight Championship mid-table battle.
Liam Palmer was once more not in the squad to face Bristol City due to new coach Danny Röhl's decision. Sheffield Wednesday missed out on valuable points as they lost 1-0. Barry Bannan was shown a red card in the 32nd minute for a harsh foul.
Playing with ten men, Sheffield were pushed back and did not see much of the ball.
The loss means Sheffield Wednesday are rooted even more to the bottom of the relegation zone.
Jacob Chapman, sponsored by MightyTips, was not selected for the match as Huddersfield drew 0-0 against visiting Watford.
Despite having a home advantage, Huddersfield mainly played a defensive game in a bid to find a lucky break but it came to nothing.
Huddersfield fall closer to the relegation zone, only five points clear of Rotherham who sit 23rd.
