Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Cardiff City

Dimitrios Goutas started the game, managing to keep a clean sheet until the 53rd minute when Blackburn found the net via Rankin-Costello, who was later subbed off for Lewis Travis in the 78th minute.

Although Blackburn dominated possession with 62.2% against Cardiff’s 37.8%, it was roughly equal on shots (9 v 11). However, only a combined three were on target - the standard of finishing in the game abysmal.

Lewis Travis was brought on late in the game in a tactical substitution to help preserve the lead.

Blackburn built on their demolition of QPR last time around and climb further up the table to 15th, whilst Cardiff miss out on crucial points and remain 11th.
