The Hurricane is a true fighting man - you just have to look at the depth and breadth of the titles he has won in different combat sports to see why he is one of the most respected sportsmen in Latvia.

He won his first boxing belt on 28 September 2024 as he defeated Misto Abdulaev from Germany and took his career record to 17-0-0. Aleksejevs secured the IBO middleweight title by TKO in the final minute of the second round at the Trofeu de Boxing Fira de Canals tournament in Canals, Valencia.

His achievements across various formats include:

• Taekwondo black belt and national titles.
• Junior title at World Kickboxing Champion 2007
• Junior title at European Kickboxing Champion 2008
• Junior Baltic K-1 Champion 2010
• Junior European Muay Thai Champion 2011
• European Professional K-1 Champion 2015

His promising career in kickboxing came to a shuddering halt after a sickening kickboxing injury resulted in a fractured leg.

He broke his leg within 17 seconds of his first fight at the KOC World Championship Fight Show against Estonian fighter Rain Karkinen in 2015.

It was a tough mental obstacle for The Hurricane, but thanks to an intense rehab program, he was back on his feet soon enough, trading heels for hands.

In sparring, Aleksejevs has tested some of the sport’s biggest names, including compatriot Mairis Briedis and Welsh fighter Liam Williams. Briedis was a three-time cruiserweight world champion, having held the IBF and Ring titles from 2020 to 2022, while Williams is a former WBO interim light-middleweight and WBO middleweight title contender.

Combat sports are my lifestyle, and boxing is a combination of beauty and skill. I love the athletic and creative parts of my personality in boxing. My goal is to win a belt from one of the leading organisations such as WBC, WBA, IBF, or WBO. I believe I am good enough and strong enough to get there. Winning my first title felt amazing, I was on cloud nine. My dream is to fight on the big stage, like Matchroom Boxing or American promotions. This was just the first step.
