  • Competition: Africa Cup of Nations
  • Date: Friday, 15th November 2024
  • Kickoff: 16:00 UK / 17:00 CET
  • Venue: Orlando Stadium (Johannesburg)

Cameroon won ten points in four qualification rounds, while Zimbabwe (eight points) and Kenya (four points) are fighting for second place, which will earn them another place at the Africa Cup of Nations. Zimbabwe will likely be satisfied with one point from the upcoming tie, while Kenya have to win to keep the chances alive.

Zimbabwe played well during the qualifications for the Africa Cup of Nations. They started with a draw against Kenya and Cameroon, while in the previous two matches, Zimbabwe won two times against Namibia, and now they are very close to their sixth Africa Cup of Nations participation in the 21st century.

Kenya started qualifications with four points in the first two rounds. However, in October, Engin Firat's team lost both games against Cameroon, so Kenya now have to win both matches left, or they will skip the third consecutive Africa Cup of Nations. Kenya was never an important team at the continental championship, but failing to qualify again would be another disappointment in Kenyan football.

Zimbabwe vs Kenya pick: Zimbabwe to win AH (0)

Zimbabwe have been playing well in the previous months, so we should expect Michael Nees' team to have a good chance to win on Friday evening, too.

Zimbabwe team news

Zimbabwe's head coach, Michael Nees, called up the mostly regular squad for the November games. Tino Kadewere from Nantes, who will skip the matches due to injury, is the only important miss from the team. Until now, Nees hasn't called up another forward instead of injured Kadewere.

Kenya

Kenya team news

Kenya's head coach, Engin Firat, has all important players available for the November games. The two vital players for the team are surely Michael Olunga (Al-Duhail) and Joseph Okumu (Reims). Kenya has more players who are playing in solid European clubs, so it is surprising that the team usually plays badly.
