Kenya come into Thursday´s COSAFA Cup contest in decent form and they will be confident of taking a positive result against an off-colour Zambia.

The Kenyans are unbeaten in their last five matches (W3, D2) following a creditable 0:0 draw against Ivory Coast in a World Cup qualifying fixture earlier this month. Engin Fırat´s side have lost just one of seven matches played since last October. 

Making their first appearance at the COSAFA Cup, Kenya can extend their unbeaten run against a Zambian side that has slipped to defeat in their last two outings.

Under the charge of former Chelsea boss Avram Grant, Zambia, the defending COSAFA Cup champions have failed to win eight of nine games played over the past eight months. Zambia slipped to a 1:0 home reversal against Tanzania in their most recent World Cup qualification fixture earlier this month.

While Zambia have the greater pedigree on the African stage, I fancy Kenya to prove a tough side to beat on Thursday. The Kenyans scored a 2:1 win when they last faced Zambia in 2020 and a similar outcome cannot be discounted. 

Unbeaten in their last two encounters against Zambia, I'm backing Engin Fırat´s side to claim a point or more in a likely competitive encounter in Gqebera.
