Zamalek are the second-greatest club in Egypt's history, behind Al Ahly. Before the last season, they managed to win back-to-back Premier League titles, which was a massive success considering that Al Ahly is on the rise. Still, last season was a disappointment as they finished in 3rd place - 23 points away from the title! This year, they are once again far away from winning the title. Currently, they are in 10th place with 34 points, but with five or six games less played than most of the league. If we look at their points-per-game, we can see that they are on a pace to finish around third place and at least secure the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ceramica Cleopatra arrived in the Egyptian Premier League in 2020/21 and had two 12 and one 13th-place finish. This season is by far their best since arrival to the league as they already won 37 points, which is their record, and they still have eight rounds to go. In fact, since they are only five points away from 3rd-placed Al Masry, they could even get involved in the battle for continental competition for the next year.

Zamalek are in good form, even though it doesn't look like that at first glance. They did lose two in the last seven games, but one of those losses was awarded (against Al Ahly), and the second one was a pretty controversial one (2:1 vs. Al Masry) in a match they definitely deserved at least one point. At home, Zamalek won five of the last eight games, and we expect them to do well once again.

Ceramica Cleopatra lost two of the last three games. If we exclude the Cup game against the lower-tier team, Makadi, they lost three of the previous four games. So, expecting a good result away from home against one of the strongest teams in the league is unreal.
