Wrexham kick off their EFL Trophy campaign when they host Salford City at STōK Cae Ras on Tuesday evening.

Wrexham are coming into this Northern Group B match in great form, picking up four wins and one draw from their first five League One fixtures. The Red Dragons have been on fire, scoring three goals or more in three of those wins, and at least two in all four victories.

Competing at their highest level for over 20 years, Phil Parkinson's men have now won each of their last seven competitive home fixtures since the end of last season. Wrexham saw at least three goals scored in their last six home wins.

After easing past Shrewsbury Town with a 3:0 win on Saturday, Wrexham have now won their last three matches, scoring eight while keeping clean sheets in all three victories.

Contrastingly, Salford City have struggled in the early part of their League Two campaign. Karl Robinson´s side picked up just two points from their first five league fixtures before a much-needed 1:0 win against MK Dons over the weekend.

On the road, Salford have failed to win eight of their last ten matches, with defeat suffered in four of those fixtures. The Ammies also slipped to a 2:0 defeat in their opening EFL Trophy match against Port Vale.

Given Wrexham´s superb home form, I'm confident the Dragons will roar again on Tuesday, with another high-scoring home win tipped at STōK Cae Ras.
