Wolfsburg comes into Sunday´s Bundesliga encounter with plenty of reasons to be confident of picking up a positive result. Ralph Hasenhüttl´s side have enjoyed a strong run of results in recent weeks, picking up victories in five successive matches before a tough 3:2 defeat at Freiburg last weekend.
Showing plenty of strength in the forward positions, the Wolves scored an impressive 16 goals in those five previous victories, while they had remained unbeaten across eight games before last weekend's narrow road loss. Among those eight matches, Wolfsburg secured a 1:0 extra-time victory against Dortmund in the DFB Pokal.
Hasenhüttl´s men have proven tough to beat on their own patch, with only one defeat suffered across their last seven home fixtures. Currently tenth in the Bundesliga, the hosts find themselves only one point behind BVB ahead of this weekend's contest.
Dortmund make the trip to the Volkswagen Arena now winless in four matches after a disappointing 1:1 draw with Hoffenheim last weekend. Former BVB winger Jacob Bruun Larsen´s stoppage-time goal secured a point for the out-of-form visitors.
A largely inconsistent campaign sees Dortmund come into Sunday's contest sitting eighth in the division, largely as a result of a dismal away record. While BVB remain unbeaten from eight home Bundesliga games this season (W6, D2), they have struggled badly on their travels.
