Wales had fairly good EURO Qualifiers but eventually failed to secure EURO as Poland eliminated them in the Playoffs. After a solid Qualifiers, the Dragons had an exceptional UEFA Nations League, securing League A after finishing at the top of the group with Turkey, Iceland, and Montenegro. It was a reasonably easy group, but it was still a success. Now, they will try to secure their third-ever WC appearance through group J with Belgium, North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, and Liechtenstein. Objectively, securing a WC (1st place in the group) will be a challenge, but 2nd place and the Playoff are pretty achievable.

Kazakhstan are one of the teams that never secured an appearance in any major tournament. They are #110 on the FIFA World Ranking List and #43 in the European region (out of 55 teams). They had a rough UEFA Nations League (B) appearance, winning just one point in six matches and getting relegated to League C. For this WC Qualifiers, despite having a fairly easy group, no one really believes they can secure the top-two finish.

Wales vs Kazakhstan pick: Wales to win and cover the -1.5 AH spread

Wales are undefeated in the previous games in the UEFA Nations League vs Turkey, Montenegro, and Iceland. Objectively, all of those teams are better than Kazakhstan. Also, Wales are a team that plays much better at home, as they are undefeated in the last nine games (in regular time). They even won 2:1 against Croatia, which are among the best teams in Europe.

Kazakhstan, on the other hand, stopped their six-game losing streak with a 2:0 win over Curacao. However, Curacao are a really weak team and that win doesn't mean anything. During that six-game losing streak, Kazakhstan lost by two or more goals on five occasions! Moreover, they lost eight in a row away from home with a terrible 5:26 goal record!

Considering the difference in overall quality and form combined with a home pitch advantage, we firmly believe the Dragons will secure a comfortable home win.

Wales

Wales team news

Aaron Ramsey, Ethan Ampadu, Harry Wilson, and Wes Burns are not called for the NT by coach Craig Bellamy due to injuries they sustained earlier. Wilson's injury is probably the biggest problem, considering that Fulham's midfielder was a part of the starting eleven in recent NT games.

Kazakhstan team news

Alibek Kasym and Bakhtiyar Zaynutdinov, who were the members of the team's starting eleven in recent matches, aren't called for the upcoming games because they are injured.

The team's total market value is around 14 million euros, compared to Wales's 165.5 million - almost twelve times fewer!
