A place in the fourth round of the Norwegian Cup will be at stake when Valerenga and Tromso go head to head on Wednesday afternoon.
Valerenga have had a terrible start to the campaign, winning only one of their five league games played so far, but the Bohemians are doing well in the Norwegian Cup. Geir Bakke’s side beat Union Carl Berner and Oppsal 7-0 on aggregate in the first and second round and will be looking to extend that run this week.
Tromso themselves have not had a great start to the 2024 Norwegian top flight campaign. The Boys are languishing at the bottom of the standings and are yet to register their first point in the league, but they have been unstoppable in the Norwegian Cup. Jørgen Vik’s side have put six goals past their opposition in the first two rounds without reply, but that’s unlikely to be repeated on Wednesday.

Having been withdrawn before the first half wistle in that game, the likes of Martin Kreuzriegler and Aaron Kiil Olsen are among those who could be demoted to the bench, potentially making way for Aleksander Hammer Kjelsen and Nathan Fasika.
