Last year, after 22 years in Eliteserien, Valerenga suffered relegation. This year, the five-time Norway winner is looking like the best team in Obos-Ligaen and the primary candidate for promotion. They had problems at the start of the season, but as the season progressed, they only looked better and better. Right now, Valerenga are at the top spot but only one point away from second-placed Moss. So, they have to continue playing well to keep themselves in pole position.

Since their relegation from Eliteseren in 2019, Ranheim were more or less constantly been a mid-table team in Obos-Ligaen. They finished eight in the last two seasons with 40 and 43 points won. This year, they are on pace for another similar finish as they are in 9th place with 20 points after 15 rounds. Still, with three wins in a row, they definitely have a reason for optimism. The playoff spots are now only three points away, and Ranheim will have a massive motive for the upcoming games.
