Real Sociedad head south on Sunday as they look to extend their winning run to four matches after a fine 3:1 Copa del Rey win against Rayo earlier this week. 

Currently seventh in La Liga, Sociedad have enjoyed a decent run of form with three wins and only one defeat recorded in their five previous league fixtures. Back-to-back cup victories against Ponferradina and the aforementioned Rayo also secured serene progress to the latter stages of the Copa del Rey. 

While favourites to claim the points on Sunday, Sociedad have proven a little inconsistent on their travels. Imanol Alguacil´s side won three and lost three of their last eight away La Liga matches. 

More reliable for those looking for low-scoring outcomes, the Basque club have seen under 2.5 goals scored in all but one of their last 11 La Liga matches. Away from home, just 12 goals have been netted in the visitors last ten road fixtures. 

Valencia come into Sunday's contest in miserable form having failed to win any of their last seven league matches. Now sitting at the bottom of the table with just 13 points from 19 games, one of Spain's biggest clubs faces the looming threat of relegation.

While the hosts' goal numbers have been less consistent than Sociedad, four of Valencia´s six most recent games also saw under 2.5 goals scored and that outcome seems likely this weekend.

Recent meetings between these sides also proved low-scoring. Six of their seven most recent encounters saw fewer than three goals and I´m banking on a repeat on Sunday.

Real should edge their way to victory, but I'm putting my stake on the under 2.5 goal pick at the Mestalla.
