Valencia will try to make it three home games unbeaten when they host Osasuna at the Mestalla in the seventh round of Spain's LaLiga on Tuesday night.

No one can deny anymore that Valencia is a mere shadow of the team they once were, and in recent seasons they've found themselves much closer to relegation than to competing for a European spot. The initial results do not give the impression that the club from Mestalla is heading for better days, as they have managed to accumulate a meager four points from the 18 available, making them the second worst team in Spain's top division at the moment, just two points above bottom-placed Las Palmas.

Since reclaiming their spot among the top teams in the 2019-20 season, Osasuna has established itself as a stable member of Spain's top tier, but it remains to be seen how the club will perform under new boss Vicente Moreno after the six-year tenure of Jagoba Arrasate came to an end last season. Early impressions from the start of the new domestic campaign sound primising, as the Pamplona side has claimed victory in half of their six appearanes to date, positioning themselves in seventh, just one point shy of Villarreal in fifth.

It is undeniable that Osasuna are enjoying a better start to the new LaLiga campaign, but given that points are hard to come by at the Mestalla, we ultimately see both sides settling for a share of the spoils. Valencia approach the midweek clash with their heads held high after routinely beating Girona 2-0 for their first win of the season. Opponents Osasuna also head to the Mestalla in good spirits after emerging as 2-1 winners against rock-bottom Las Palmas to maintain their unbeaten record  at their home this term (W3 D1). Nevertheless, the Pamplona club are still in search of their first points on foreign soil, but it looks like they could get them here, as we believe neither of the two rivals will want to spoil the mood builted by the weekend's successes. Therefore, we expect that both sides will take a careful stane from the start, so it wouldn't be surprising if Tuesday's clash at Mestalla ends without a winner, marking the first draw between them since January 2021.
