Two sides separated by nine points in the Spanish top flight standings meet on Sunday afternoon as Valencia welcome Celta Vigo to Mestalla.
Valencia have been on the decline in the Spanish top flight for the past five seasons, with their best finish in that time being ninth in 2021-22 and last season.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the team this term and the best way to explain this is the fact that Carlos Corberan is Valencia's third coach in just over a year.
Celta Vigo cannot claim to have been good in recent years either. The visitors will argue that they are above the bottom three but the difference is just five points and they have not won a game in 2025. Claudio Giráldez González's side are winless in five games since the turn of the year, have lost four and conceded more than two goals in all but one of the four away games played in that run.
Valencia vs Celta Vigo Betting Tips: Both teams to score
Although Valencia are second from the bottom, Los Ches are doing well in the final third – boasting at least one goal from each of their last eight games and I fancy them to extend that run against struggling Celta Vigo this weekend.
Celta have the second-worst defensive record in La Liga this season and didn’t finish any of their last five games without conceding. The Sky Blues are also without a clean sheet in their last eight away games across all competitions.

Valencia team news
Thierry Correia’s cruciate ligament injury has kept him out since October last year and Sunday’s game will come too soon for the Portuguese professional.
Valencia head coach Carlos Corberán is expected to make wholesale changes to the side that started the humiliating 7-1 defeat to Barca, with Fran Pérez and Sergi Canos among those hoping to return to the XI.

Celta Vigo team news
Celta Vigo’s captain Iago Aspas has missed the last four games due to a leg injury and forward isn’t expected to be in the squad this weekend.
The Sky Blues’ injury list also includes Alfon González, while Óscar Mingueza will serve the last of his two match ban for comments made against the referee against Bilbao a fortnight ago.
