The Bank of America Stadium is the host for a huge contest on Wednesday as Uruguay and Colombia battle it out for a place in the Copa America final.

Uruguay vs Colombia Betting Tips: Under 2.5 Goals / Draw

Colombia steamrolled into the Copa America semi-finals with a dominant 5-0 dismantling of Panama last Saturday. The clinical display saw a different Colombian player score each goal, underlining their attacking depth.

Los Cafeteros have been in great form over the past two years, and in this competition. Unbeaten in a staggering 27 international matches since March 2020, Néstor Lorenzo's squad boasts a win rate exceeding 77% during that period. Their current Copa America campaign reflects this dominance, with three convincing victories from four games played.

Uruguay edged their way into the Copa America semi-finals after a tense penalty shootout victory over arch-rivals Brazil. Following a less than enthralling goalless draw, La Celeste held their nerve from the spot, to claim a 4:2 spotkicks victory.

The dramatic quarter-final win extended Uruguay's impressive run under manager Marcelo Bielsa. They are now unbeaten in 11 of their last 12 matches, a streak stretching back ten months.

Uruguay boasts a rich Copa America history with 21 appearances in the final, with their most recent triumph coming in 2011. Contrastingly, Colombia have appeared in just two finals, with their sole success coming as hosts  in 2001.

Both nations will certainly feel confident of their chances, in what looks like a near-even money betting contest. An intense, low-scoring battle seems likely to be on the cards for this Copa America semi-final. I expect a tight affair with defences likely to dominate, resulting in few clear-cut opportunities.

Aa such, under 2.5 goals looks the safest bet On Wednesday. Given the importance of the occasion and the quality of both defenses, a tight, cagey affair seems likely. With no extra-time in this competition, Uruguay may well feel their best chance is to play it safe (As they did against Brazil) and look for another penalty shoot out triumph.

With that in mind, I´m backing under 2.5 goals with the expectation of a low-scoring draw in Charlotte.
