Twente had a great last season, finishing 3rd and getting the opportunity to play in the Champions League Qualifiers. Unfortunately, they failed to reach it, as Salzburg eliminated them in the Playoff round. They started the Europa League with two draws against very good teams, Manchester United and Fenerbahce, and will have another challenging game against Lazio. In the Eredivisie, they also had a mediocre start as they are in 6th place. Right now, they are just one point away from 3rd-placed Ajax, but with two games played more.

Lazio had one of the worst Serie A seasons in a very long time, as they finished seventh with only 61 points in 38 rounds, barely securing the Europa League.
