Tottenham return to the European stage in high spirits after an excellent 4:1 win against local rivals West Ham last Saturday. Three goals scored in just eight second-half minutes secured a sixth win in seven matches for Ange Postecoglu´s side.
Now finding their form, the hosts can usually be relied upon for entertainment. At least three goals were scored in nine of Spurs last ten matches, including each of those six recent victories.
At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Lilywhites have a strong record, scoring 14 wins from 20 games played at this venue over the past ten months. Four of their last five home fixtures ended in comfortable victories, with an impressive 14 goals scored in wins against Everton, Brentford, Qarabag and the aforementioned Hammers.
The Londoners also boast a dominant record in home Europa League matches with seven successive wins recorded since 2020. Spurs scored 25 goals in those victories.
AZ makes the trip to London in contrasting form, with defeats suffered in each of their last four matches, including a 2:1 home loss against Eredivisie champions PSV last weekend. De Kaasboeren had enjoyed a seven-game unbeaten run before their recent sticky spell.
While the Dutch side have enough quality to make this a competitive fixture, Tottenham should prove too strong and another high-scoring win seems likely.
