Tottenham´s season rests on Thursday´s crucial second-leg contest with Ange Postecoglu´s side looking to overturn a 1:0 defeat in the Netherlands last week.
A poor performance in Alkmaar saw Spurs deservedly beaten, and with their FA Cup and League Cup hopes already extinguished, Thursday´s fixture represents Spurs last hope of picking up silverware this season.
Postecoglu´s men did show some fight to claim a 2:2 draw with Bournemouth on Sunday. Trailing 2:0, late goals from Pape Sarr and Heung Min Son rescued a point in London. While domestic form has been poor with the Lilywhites currently languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League, Spurs have maintained consistency in Europe, particularly at the TH Stadium. Tottenham won nine of their last ten home Europa League matches, including a 1:0 win against AZ last October.
AZ makes the trip to London having enjoy a free weekend domestically, and they remain sixth in the Eredivisie, with three wins picked up from their last four league fixtures.
De Kaasboeren usually do their best work in home matches, particularly in European competition. AZ won six of their last seven home Europa League games, while they remain unbeaten in 18 home games since 2017 home ties. By comparison, they ailed to win any of their last eight away Europa League matches, with defeat suffered in three of five road games played this season.

While the Dutch side have enough quality to make Spurs sweat, I expect the hosts to eventually emerge with a narrow win in 90 minutes.
