- Venue: Stadio Olimpico di Torino (Turin)
Torino are playing their 13th consecutive season in the Italian top-flight division, where they were mostly a mid-table team. This season, even though there is still a lot of football to be played, "Il Toro" are once again looking like a mid-table team. They are 12th with 28 points from 25 matches, and it seems pretty unreal they can take a step forward this season and reach European spots. They have massive problems with injuries, and even though they will have a relatively easy schedule after the AC Milan game, we do not think they can move significantly.
AC Milan are playing one of their worst seasons in a long time. Rossoneri have constantly been just outside of the European spots and are currently in 7th place with 41 points from 24 rounds. They are one point away from 6th placed Fiorentina but five points away from the desired 4th place and the Champions League spots. Considering they played one game less than the teams in front of them, we can safely say they can easily move upwards in the upcoming period. However, in the last game, they suffered a big blow, as Feyenoord eliminated them from the Champions League 1/16 Finals (2:1 aggregate). It will be interesting to see how they will respond after such a devastating loss.
Torino vs AC Milan pick: Under 2.5 goals
Torino are by far the best team in Serie A for this bet, as 68% of their games (17 out of 25) finished with under 2.5 goals. And at home, that number is even more impressive, with 83% of their games finished with fewer than three goals.
Meanwhile, AC Milan mostly played low-scoring games recently and were under 2.5 goals in the last four matches. While they had some good games lately, most of their good games came at home. Away from home, they lost three of the last four with only three scored goals - 0.75 per game. So, we do not trust them to offer a good offensive performance here, especially after being eliminated from the CL.
Considering all the above, we believe that an under 2.5 goals bet looks like the safest option for this Serie A tie.
