An intriguing FA Cup tie takes place at the Lamb Ground on Friday evening as Tamworth takes on Huddersfield.

Tamworth vs Huddersfield Betting Tips - Tamworth or Draw

National League hosts Tamworth will fancy their chances of scoring a shock cup victory when they host League One opponents Huddersfield this weekend.

The visitors have enjoyed a fine run of form in recent weeks, picking up four wins from their last five matches. However, all four of those victories came in home fixtures.

On the road, the Terries have been much less convincing this season. Michael Duff´s side lost five while winning just one of their last seven away fixtures.

Huddersfield´s recent away record in the FA Cup offers little inspiration with defeats suffered in five of six previous matches since 2019.

While hosts Tamworth are big underdogs for this tie, their recent home form suggests they cannot be under-estimated on Friday. Andy Peaks' side won five while losing just one of their last seven matches at The Lamb Ground.

The Lambs recent home record in this competition suggests they are unlikely to be led to the slaughter this weekend. The hosts claimed victories in six of their last seven home FA Cup fixtures since 2020, including a 4:2 win against Macclesfield that secured their spot in Friday´s 1st round tie.

Given their strong home form and Huddersfield´s recent and historical away struggles, I'm taking a chance on Tamworth to at least avoid defeat on Friday.

Tamworth double chance is my top tip for what should prove a lively affair at the Lamb Ground.

Tamworth team news

Andy Peaks reported no new injury issues ahead of Friday's FA Cup first round clash. The Lambs are likely to field the same XI that slipped to a 2:0 defeat at Southend last weekend.
