Last year, Stuttgart had a massive season, eventually finishing second. However, this season, they are not even close to that level, as they sit in 9th place with 40 points from 28 matches. They are only four points away from the European spots, but their best chance of reaching Europe seems to be through the Cup. The Reds had an excellent run, eliminating RB Leipzig and Augsburg and reaching the Finals. There, they will be a massive favorite, considering they will face off against a third-tier team, Arminia Bielefeld.
Since gaining promotion in the 2021/22 season, Werder Bremen have been in the middle of the league's table. However, they haven't been great for a long time now, and their last appearance in Europe was all the way back in the 2010/11 season. This year, they could finally change that with a good end of the season. Right now, they are in 10th place with 39 points from 28 matches - just five points away from European spots.
Stuttgart vs Werder Bremen pick: Werder Bremen to cover the +1 AH spread
Stuttgart have been super inconsistent. They have been fantastic in the last two games, winning against Bochum and RB Leipzig with a combined goal difference of 7:1. But before those wins, they were on a six-game winless streak. Also, at home, Stuttgart haven't been too dominant, winning only four times (in 18 games) by two or more goals - 22.2%.
Werder Bremen are in solid form lately. They won three of the last four games, and even in the match they lost (4:2 vs B. Monchengladbach), they did well and deserved at least a draw.
In the previous h2h game, we saw a 2:2 draw. Moreover, Stuttgart won just once in the last five games, and even that win was by one goal difference. Considering the trend in the previous h2h games and all the above, we believe Werder Bremen should make this game close.

Werder Bremen team news
After a 2:0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, coach Ole Werner spoke to the media. He said it was a deserved win because they were a better team in every phase of the game. "It was one of our best performances of the season. We set the pace, and we were very clinical with our chances," the coach added.
Amos Pieper suffered an injury in the previous game against Eintracht Frankfurt and had to leave the field in the 65th minute. He will most likely be out along with Milos Veljkovic, who already missed the previous two due to a hamstring injury.
