- Competition: DFB Pokal, Quarter-Finals
- Date: Tuesday, 4th February, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
- Venue: MHPArena (Stuttgart)
In the German DFB Pokal Quarter Finals, two Bundesliga teams, Stuttgart and Augsburg, will face off against each other at MHPArena in Stuttgart.
Stuttgart had a magnificent season behind them, finishing second. Considering the play in the relegation playout in the previous season, it is a massive success. This season, they are doing well again in the Bundesliga, where they sit in fourth place with 32 points from 20 matches. Since the first place is very distant, their only goal is to secure a top-four finish and the Champions League. Considering they were just knocked out of the Champions League, they will now focus on domestic competitions, which could help them in the remainder of the season.
Augsburg are playing their 14th consecutive season in the Bundesliga, where they were mostly in the middle or lower part of the league's table. This season is no exception, as they are sitting in 12th place with 26 points from 20 matches. Lately, they have been really good and have every reason to be optimistic about their chances of maybe reaching the European spots. Right now, they are only five points away from it.
Stuttgart vs Augsburg pick: Both teams to score
Stuttgart's defense collapsed in recent games as they allowed eight goals in three games - 2.7 per game. They also had only two clean sheets in 12 games in all competitions - 17%. So, expecting a clean sheet seems unlikely at the moment. On the other hand, Stuttgart is scoring pretty regularly and have done so at least once in six out of the last seven matches.
Augsburg are, objectively, a weaker team of the two, but they are in excellent form, having won three and drawn one in the last four matches. They were pretty efficient, scoring seven goals - 1.75 per game. So, we believe they will score against struggling Stuttgart as well.
Considering all the above, we strongly believe that both teams to score bet is the safest option for the upcoming DFB Pokal tie.

Stuttgart team news
After a 2:1 loss against Borussia M'Gladbach, coach Sebastian Hoeness spoke to the media. He said they have to improve and that they are not satisfied. "Overall, we were in control, and our intensity was good, but we only rarely managed to create any chances," the coach added.
The team should have no new injuries, but the ones who missed the previous matches should remain sidelined - Justin Diehl, Christopher Olivier, Luca Raimund, El Bilal Toure, and Dan-Axel Zagadou.

Augsburg team news
After a 1:1 draw with St. Pauli, coach Jess Thorup spoke to the media. He said St. Pauli were a better team in the first half, but they managed to grab control of the game in the second half thanks to the substitutes. "We are now unbeaten in four games in a row, and we want to build on that," the coach added.
Yusuf Kabadayi, Reece Oxford, Cedric Zesiger, and Henri Koudossou, who missed the previous games with injuries, should remain sidelined.
