Stockport County are slowly moving through the ranks. In the last three seasons, they managed to move from the National League (the fifth tier of English football) to League One. The Hatters opened the season great, but it seems they are slowing down as they failed to win in the last four games. Still, they are in a comfortable 12th position with 18 points in 12 rounds. Right now, they are much closer to the playoff spots than the relegation zone and are probably satisfied.

Reading have two difficult seasons behind them. After being relegated from the Championship, they finished 16th in League One last year. This year, The Royals are doing much better, considering they are in 6th place with 22 points in 12 rounds - just four away from the direct promotion. The Royals really struggled away from home so far, and if they fix that, they have every reason to be optimistic about their chances of at least reaching the playoffs this season.

Even though Stockport County won just once in the last seven games, they are scoring pretty regularly and have done so at least once in six of those seven games. In fact, if we look further back, they have scored at least one goal in 14 out of 15 games (93.3%). So, at home, they should score against Reading, which had problems away from home.

Reading won three games in a row and five in the last six. They have been really good offensively but also kept only just one clean sheet during that period. We do not trust them to keep their net intact against a team that scores regularly, but we are more than pleased with what we have seen from them on the other side of the pitch.
