Slovan Bratislava continue the search for their first point in the 2024-25 Champions League campaign on Tuesday night when they play host to Stuttgart.
The hosts have won each of the last six top-flight seasons in Slovakia and look set to extend that run this term. Vladimír Weiss's men sit top of the domestic standings, with a three-point lead over second-placed MSK Zilina after last weekend's round of fixtures. The Sky Blues boast three from their last four league games, scoring twelve goals in the process, but things look very different in Europe. They have lost all six of their Champion s League matches and conceded 16 goals, the second-highest total in the competition.
VfB Stuttgart surprised everyone by finishing second last season, ahead of Bayern, Leipzig and Dortmund. Despite losing star man Serhou Guirassy to Dortmund last summer, the Reds have continued to be a handful for most Bundesliga teams this term. They won each of their last three league games 7:1 on aggregate.
Slovan Bratislava vs Stuttgart Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
While Slovan Bratislava are top of the Slovak Super League, they have struggled defensively and have conceded more goals than any of the teams in the top four. Vladimír Weiss's side failed to keep a clean sheet in eleven of their last twelve matches, with the same number of games ending with more than 2.5 goals scored.
Stuttgart are capable of scoring on their day. The Bundesliga side showed their attacking prowess last time out, scoring five goals against Freiburg in the league, and they also netted five times against Young Boys in their last Champions League outing.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Slovan Bratislava vs Stuttgart prediction: 1-3
