On Friday evening, Silkeborg will welcome Aalborg in the 13th round of the Danish Superliga at Jysk Park in Silkeborg.

Silkeborg had a fantastic season last year. They finished last (sixth) in the Championship Group but won the Danish Cup - their third-ever major trophy in the club's history. Unfortunately, they failed to reach Europe after Molde and Gent eliminated them from the EL and the Conference League. When it comes to the Superliga, Silkeborg are doing very well, as they are in 4th with 20 points in 12 rounds - just four points away from the top spot. Objectively, the title isn't a realistic goal, but for now, they are doing more than OK.

Aalborg suffered an unexpected relegation in the 2022/23 season but managed to secure an instant return by winning the 1st Division. Even though they were mostly among the top seven teams in the Superliga in the 21st century and won the title on two occasions (2013/14 and 2007/08), they are far from that level this season. Right now, they are 9th with 13 points in 12 rounds, and their main goal is to "only" secure survival. However, for now, they are in the Relegation Group and will need to improve results, especially away from home, in order to avoid relegation.

Silkeborg vs Aalborg pick: Silkeborg to win

Silkeborg are undefeated in the last six games. To be fair, they won just once during that period, but they had a very tough schedule recently. So, even though the results could have been better, it is not a reason for concern. At home, Silkeborg are doing well, losing just once in eight matches, with a 50% win rate, once again while facing really good teams like FC Copenhagen, Brondby, Nordsjaelland, Gent, Molde, etc... Those are all much better teams than Aalborg.

Aalborg had mixed results this year, but most of their poor results happened away from home. They won almost 70% of their Superliga points at home. Away from home, they lost four out of six games. More or less, their only good performances away from home came in the Cup against lower-league teams.

In the first h2h game, Aalborg won 2:1. However, Silkeborg were a much better team and deserved a lot more from the game. Now, with a home pitch advantage and considering Aalborg's terrible performances on the road, we believe that Silkeborg should secure a comfortable win.
