Rennes come into Friday's Ligue 1 encounter desperate to get back to winning form after a slow start to the season. Eight games into the campaign, the home side have picked up just eight points, with only two wins registered. 

A 1:1 draw in their last outing at Brest, thanks to a late equaliser from Jota prevented Rennes from losing a third successive league fixture.

Now winless in each of their last four Ligue 1 matches, the pressure is beginning to mount on head coach Julien Stéphan. After a summer of serious investment, results will need to improve quickly for the 44-year-old French boss.

Les Rouge et Noirs are usually stronger at home and having picked up 3:0 victories against Lyon and Montpellier already, should see this fixture as an ideal opportunity to return to winning form. 

Le Havre come into Friday's contest in dreadful form with defeat suffered in each of their last five Ligue 1 fixtures. Didier DIgard´s men conceded 14 goals while scoring just once in those five consecutive defeats.

On the road, Le Club Doyen have a particularly poor record with defeats suffered in nine of 14 away Ligue 1 games since December 2023. Le Havre won just two of 21 games on their travels since their return to the French top flight. 

While Le Havre claimed a 2:2 on their last visit to this venue, I expect Rennes to return to winning form this weekend.

A home win is my top tip at Roazhon Park.
