On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, two Serie A teams, Red Bull Bragantino and Atletico PR, will face off in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil 1/8 Finals. The first leg ended with a 2:0 victory for Athletico Paranaense, and Red Bull Bragantino hopes to turn the tables on their home turf at Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid in Bragança Paulista.

After coming to the Serie A in 2019, Red Bull Bragantino became a stable mid-table team. This year, the popular Braga started strongly across all competitions but has recently slowed down, currently sitting tenth in Serie A, nine points away from the Copa Libertadores spots, although with two games played less. In Copa Sudamericana, they have reached the 1/8 Finals and are considered one of the title favorites, but they face a tough challenge in Copa do Brasil. Reaching the 1/8 Finals in the domestic Cup is their best result ever, but the bookmakers remain skeptical after the first-leg defeat, giving them odds of around 5.0 to progress to the 1/8 Finals.

Atletico PR is playing their 12th consecutive season in Serie A, and like RB Bragantino, they were mostly a mid-table team. Even though there are a lot of football to be played in Serie A, the popular Rubro-Negro are on pace for another mid-table finish. Also, like RB Bragantino, Athletico PR reached the Copa Sudamericana 1/8 but cannot face Bragantino before the potential Finals. In the domestic Cup, they need only to finish the job on the road in Bragança Paulista, but they traditionally had problems securing positive results there in recent years.

In the first leg, Red Bull Bragantino dominated possession (67%) and made almost double the number of goal attempts. Even though they failed to score, they surely deserved at least one goal. At home this season (excluding the state league), RB Bragantino were pretty efficient and scored at least one goal in 14 of 16 games. Additionally, they won the last three home games against Athletico PR while scoring seven goals. So, we believe in their ability to score.

On the other hand, RB Bragantino had massive problems defending against Athletico PR, especially when Rubo-Negro attacked from the flanks. Now RB Bragantino have to open due to a two-goal deficit, which could easily backfire on them, as Athletico PR showed they can easily score on counterattacks.
