Real Madrid vs Sevilla prediction 25.02.2024

For the majority of the season, Girona and Real Madrid went toe to toe at the top of the La Liga table. However, in the last two games, Los Blancos managed to create a six-point advantage after a win in the h2h game and, with Girona losing the last game vs Athletic Bilbao. There is still a lot of football to be played, but it looks like Real Madrid took a massive step in winning the La Liga title. The bookies have them as the clear-cut favorites for the title, with the odds only at 1.05! Also, Los Blancos are in a superb situation in the UCL, as they won the first leg game against RB Leipzig (1:0) away from home and will need only a draw at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu to advance to the Quarter-Finals. 

Sevilla are surely one of the biggest disappointments of the season. Last year, they had a poor La Liga season as they finished 11th, but they saved the season with the Europa League title. This year, the Andalusian team was bad in all competitions. Right now, they are 15th with 24 points in 25 rounds - just seven points away from the danger zone. Still, in the last four games, Sevilla are undefeated while beating some really good teams like Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. 

Real Madrid vs Sevilla pick: Under 3.5 goals

Throughout the season, Real Madrid were really good offensively, scoring 2.12 goals per game in La Liga. However, after Bellingham suffered an injury vs Girona, we could see a massive turn for the worse, at least on the offensive end. In two games without Bellingham, Los Blancos scored "only" two goals total vs RB Leipzig and Rayo Vallecano. Still, the excellent defensive performances is what keeps Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. Lately, their defense has been incredible despite having a lot of injuries. In the last five games in all competitions, they allowed only two goals. 

Sevilla played only low-scoring games in recent matches. They were under 3.5 goals in the last five while averaging only 1.4 goals per game. Also, their defense was great in recent matches, keeping a clean sheet in the last two games vs Atletico Madrid and Valencia. 

In the previous h2h game in October, we saw a 1:1 draw. Considering the previous h2h game and all the above, but especially both teams' excellent defensive performances, we strongly believe that an under 3.5 goals is the safest option for this tie.
