- Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu (Madrid)
After a 1:0 win for Real Madrid in the first leg, Los Blancos will welcome Real Sociedad in the second leg of the Copa del Rey Semi-Finals at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid.
Last year, Real Madrid won the double, winning La Liga and the Champions League titles. This season, Los Blancos faced some criticism that they struggle in big games, but we cannot say the season has been a failure (for now) since they are very close to reaching the Cup Finals, reached the Champions League Quarter-Finals, and are three points away from the first place Barcelona in La Liga, although with a game played more. The main issue this season is their inability to win games away from home, and in order to grab some trophies, that is something they have to fix as soon as possible.
Real Sociedad have been among the top six teams in La Liga in the last five years, even securing the Champions League appearance on one occasion. However, this season, the Basque team isn't on an expected level as they sit in 10th place with 38 points from 29 matches - six points away from European spots. It seems their best chance of reaching Europe is through the Cup. However, that will not be an easy task after losing the first leg at home 1:0. Right now, the bookies offer odds of around 13 for them to reach the Finals.
Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad pick: Over 2.5 goals
Real Madrid's offensive potential is massive, and we do not doubt their ability to score at least a couple of goals, especially at home, where they have been incredible. In 24 home games, they scored at least a couple in 21 of them - 87.5%. However, defensively, we cannot say they have impressed lately, failing to keep a clean sheet in the last six games in all competitions.
Real Sociedad were over 2.5 goals in the last three games in all competitions, with an average of four goals per game. They have big problems on the defensive end away from home, and we wouldn't be surprised if they would allow Real Madrid three or more goals in this Cup game. In the last four road matches, they allowed a total of 13 goals (3.25 per game). Yes, they had a challenging schedule (Real Betis, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Rayo Vallecano), but this game against RM will not be any easier.
RM are definitely a much better team, but we are reluctant to take a -1.5 AH spread on this one simply due to their poor defensive performances in recent matches. Instead, we believe that an over 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this Cup tie.

In the previous game against Leganes, coach Ancelotti rested some key players like Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Rodrygo. The coach explained they have so many matches left and must be cautious with distributing minutes.
When it comes to injuries, the team should have no new ones, but the players who missed the previous matches should remain sidelined - Daniel Carvajal, Dani Ceballos, Thibaut Courtois, Ferland Mendy, and Eder Militao.

Real Sociedad team news
Before the Real Madrid game, coach Imanol Alguacil spoke to the media. The 53-year-old coach said he does not care about the result of the first leg and that he believes they can win. He added that they had already beaten them in the quarter-finals of Copa del Rey in 2020 and are capable of repeating that.
Sheraldo Becker, Brais Mendez, Jon Pacheco, and Arsen Zakharyan, who missed the previous games with injuries, should remain sidelined.
