On Saturday evening, the 238th Madrid derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will take place at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Real Madrid had an excellent last season, winning the Champions League and La Liga as well. This season, Los Blancos are doing well once again as they secured the Champions League 1/16 Finals and are at the top of La Liga with a one-point advantage over their next opponent, Atletico Madrid. Los Blancos also secured the Copa del Rey Quarter Finals with a 3:2 win over Leganes in the last game. Even though they are in a good position, there is some criticism of their performances, especially in Europe. However, injuries in the defensive line could put them in a difficult position ahead of the upcoming games.

After winning the title in the 2022/21 season, Atletico Madrid were the third or fourth-best team in La Liga. This year, "Colchoneros" have been incredible in all competitions. As we mentioned, they are one point behind Real Madrid on the La Liga table, and with a possible win, they would take over the top spot. They also secured Copa del Rey Quarter Finals with a big 5:0 win over Getafe in the last game. But unlike Real Madrid, Colchoneros were great in the CL, easily securing the 1/8 Finals.

Real Madrid's offense has been awesome this season, and looking at their talent up front, that is hardly a surprise. Lately, they did very well, scoring three or more goals in five of the last six matches. So, scoring a goal at home against anyone is a must. On the other hand, we do not trust their defense as they are without their key defenders.

Atletico Madrid won three in a row against Getafe, Mallorca, and Salzburg, scoring 11 goals - 3.7 per game. They have been really good offensively this season, and if we look further back, Colchoneros scored at least a goal in 20 out of the last 21 games - 95%.

In the first h2h game this season, we saw a 1:1 draw. Moreover, both teams scored in the last eight h2h games. Considering the trend in the previous h2h games and all the above, both teams to score bet seems like the best option for the Madrid derby.
