Real Madrid vs Atalanta Betting Tips: BTTS / Over 2.5

A usually entertaining spectacle, a potentially high-scoring Super Cup contest could again be on the cards in Poland with the first piece of European silverware on the line.

History tells us that we can expect goals on Wednesday, with the BTTS pick typically proving profitable. Eight of the last nine finals saw both teams scoring, while 17 of 24 finals played in this century also saw BTTS land. Real saw that outcome in three of four winning final appearances in this competition since 2016.

Italian outfit Atalanta secured their place in Wednesday's showpiece occasion with a commanding 3:0 win in the final of the Europa League against a previously unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen. Real, for their part, also saw off German opposition in winning the Champions League with a 2:0 win against Dortmund.

Both teams come into the final on Wednesday having yet to reach top form in pre-season. Real lost two and won one of three friendlies, while Atalanta have only a draw to show from their three warm-up fixtures.

Still, you would expect both teams to be up for this final, and with the contest taking place in a bigger stadium than years gone by, a lively atmosphere should make for an exciting spectacle on the pitch.

While it´s tough to back against Real Madrid, serial winners at this level, Atalanta should have enough attacking quality to make this a competitive and potentially high-scoring match. 

BTTS is my primary pick, while I also like the chances of over 2.5 goals scored in Poland.
