Real Betis return to action this weekend still searching for their first win of the new league season. Three games into the campaign, Los Verdiblancos picked up a pair of draws against Girona and Alaves before a 2:0 win at Real Madrid in their last outing a fortnight ago. 

Without a win in any of their last six league matches since the end of last season, Manuel Pellegrini´s side have struggled for consistency in home matches this year. Betis failed to win seven of their last ten home league fixtures, and now face a tough test against a Leganes side that have made a positive start to the season.

Competing in the top flight for the first time since 2020, Leganes picked up five points from their first three matches before a 1:0 home defeat against Mallorca a fortnight ago.

On the road, Borja Jiménez´s side picked up back-to-back draws against Osasuna and Valladolid and they could prove a tough side to beat this weekend. Leganes have lost just two of their last 13 competitive fixtures since the back-end of last season. 

Goal stats are a little inconclusive, and with Betis yet to find much form this season, backing the visitors to avoid defeat could prove the best bet on Friday.

A potentially tricky match for punters, I'm putting my money on Leganes to avoid defeat with a low-scoring draw potentially on the cards in Seville.
