Since their arrival in the Bundesliga in the 2016/17 season, RB Leipzig was in the top four spots in seven out of eight seasons. This season, while they're around their usual placement in the Bundesliga, the team from Saxony had a terrible one in the Champions League. They only won three points in eight rounds and weren't even close to securing the next stage of the competition. But in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig are in 4th place with 37 points in 22 rounds. Considering they are just one point away from dropping out of the CL spots, they have to continue winning points, especially against out-of-form teams from the bottom of the league's table like Heidenheim.

Heidenheim secured promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2022/23 season and had a fantastic next season, finishing 8th and securing Europe in their first season in the German top-flight division. However, playing on multiple fronts seems to be too challenging for them. In the Conference League, they did OK, reaching the 1/16 Finals, where FC Copenhagen eliminated them eventually. But in the Bundesliga, they are in the relegation playout playoff with only 14 points from 22 matches - seven points away from the safe zone. Considering they lost five Bundesliga games in a row, there are very few things to be optimistic about at this moment.

RB Leipzig vs Heidenheim pick: Under 2.5 goals

RB Leipzig have been great for this bet, as they were under 2.5 goals in the last four games. During that four-game stretch, we only saw 0.75 goals per game! They are generally an excellent defensive team and had 50% clean sheets thus far (the most in the Bundesliga).

Heidenheim are in terrible form, having lost five Bundesliga games in a row. They only scored two goals in that five-game stretch - 0.4 per game. So, even scoring a goal against one of the best (defensive) Bundesliga teams away from home will definitely be a challenge.

In the first h2h game this season, we saw a 1:0 win for RB Leipzig. Considering the previous h2h game, RB Leipzig's good defensive performances, and Heidenheim's terrible form, we believe that an under 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this Bundesliga tie.
