For most of the 2024/25 season, PSV looked as the dominant force in Eredivisie. However, after only five points in the last four matches, Ajax closed the gap to only two points with one game fewer played. Feyenoord are not at its usual level this season. They are fifth in Eredivisie, and Feyenoord will be satisfied if, in the end, they finish in the position that will give them a place in the Champions League qualifications. Although Feyenoord struggled in Eredivisie this year, they showed a solid level in most European elite competition, as Brian Priske's team also found their place in the next phase. Feyenoord won only one of the last four matches. In the previous game, they lost 2-1 on the road against Ajax.
