Eredivisie leaders Ajax make the trip to Philips Stadion this Sunday for a top-of-the-table showdown with second-placed PSV. With just eight games left, the visitors hold a six-point cushion at the summit of the divsion and will be looking to tighten their grip on the title.

So often a high-scoring contest, another thrilling matchup seems likely with plenty of goals expected. PSV have seen over 2.5 goals in nine of their last 11 meetings with Ajax, including the reverse fixture this season, a thrilling 3;2 win for Ajax at Johan Cruijff ArenA. A similar outcome should be expected this weekend with PSV's last nine games across all competitions also delivering three or more goals.

Ajax arrive in Eindhoven in strong shape. The visitors are unbeaten in 11 Eredivisie matches, after a 2:2 draw with AZ before the international break. Away from home, they’ve picked up victories in each of their last five road games.

Francesco Farioli´s entertaining side have seen over 2.5 goals in three of their last four, and are more than capable of breaking through against a PSV side that rarely does clean sheets.

PSV boast a strong record at Philips Stadion with the hosts unbeaten in 13 league games this season, with 10 wins and three draws. Remarkably, Peter Bosz´s side are unbeaten in 40 home Eredivisie fixtures stretching back to January 2023. 

With both teams full of attacking firepower, the title race heating up, and recent history loaded with goals, Sunday´s fixture looks likely to be another high-scoring classic.

Over 2.5 goals is my best bet in Eindhoven.
