The first trophy of the season will be won in French football on Sunday evening when PSG take on Monaco in the Super Cup, which will be played at Ras Abu Aboud in Qatar.
As has been the case for the last decade or so, reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG go into this match as clear favourites. Luis Enrique’s men are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions and have recorded four wins and two draws in that period, including a 4-2 away win over Sunday’s rivals Monaco. In their final game of 2024 just before Christmas, PSG progressed to the next round of the Coupe de France with a 4-3 penalty shootout win over Lens. The Ligue 1 champions have won four games in a row in all competitions since mid-December.
Monaco, on the other hand, go into the Super Cup clash against PSG in much worse shape. The Red & Whites have won just once in their last four games in all competitions - their last win came in a Coupe de France match against a team from a lower league (USJFC) - and have lost four of their last seven games in all competitions.
PSG vs Monaco Betting Tips: PSG to Win in Full Time
PSG are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions and are currently on a four-game winning streak. They are also unbeaten in their last three meetings with Monaco (2 wins, 1 defeat) and have scored a total of nine goals in the two games they have won. PSG have also won the last two meetings in the Super Cup, beating Monaco 4-0 in 2018 and 2-1 in 2017.
