Portugal can move one step closer to a place in the final stages of the UEFA Nations League when they host Poland at the Estádio Do Dragão on Friday evening.

Portugal vs Poland Betting Tips: Portugal Win / Over 2.5 Goals

After a frustrating 0:0 draw against Scotland on matchday four, Portugal will be looking to get back to winning form against Poland in Porto.

With two games still to play in League A, Group 1, Portugal sit at the top of the section with ten points on the board. Roberto Martinez´s side won their first three group fixtures before last month´s goalless draw in Glasgow.

Usually a force in home fixtures, Portugal claimed victories in 11 of their last 12 matches in front of their own support over the past two years, including wins against Scotland and Croatia this year. Both games finished with the same 2:1 scoreline.

A minimum of three goals were scored in all but one of Portugal's last 12 home fixtures and both outcomes look likely on Thursday.

Poland come into Friday's contest having maintained their hopes of qualification with a thrilling 3:3 draw against Croatia last month. Following a 3:2 win against Scotland on matchday one, the Poles had slipped to back-to-back defeats against Croatia (1:0) and Portugal (3:1) before last month´s share of the points in Warsaw.

Like the Portuguese, goals can usually be expected when Poland are in action. Seven of their last nine matches saw a minimum of three goals scored. All seven games also saw both teams get on the scoresheet. With those numbers in mind, an over 2.5 goal outcome seems likely on Friday.

I´m backing Portugal to maintain their fine winning form at home, in a game that should see a minimum of three goals scored.
