Following a surprise 1:0 defeat in Copenhagen, Portugal return to Lisbon with much to do if they are to secure a spot in the Nations League semi-finals. 

A poor performance saw the Portuguese fail to impress as the Danes claimed a hard-fought first-leg success. Having missed a first-half penalty, Rasmus Højlund´s second-half goal helped Denmark secure a well-deserved win at Parken. 

Portugal, far from their best on Thursday, will now expect home advantage to prove the difference, with Roberto Martinez´s side usually a different animal on Portuguese soil. 

A superb winning record has seen A Seleção das Quinas win 12 of their last 13 home fixtures. Martinez´s men scored a remarkable 42 goals in those victories.

While the Danes can take great confidence from their first-leg win in Copenhagen, a poor recent record on the road is cause for concern. Denmark failed to win seven of their last nine away fixtures, with their only victories coming in Finland and San Marino. Defeats in Northern Ireland and Kazakhstan reinforce the suggestion that this is a side that does much of their best work in home fixtures.

With World Cup qualification groups also dependent on Sunday's matchup, plenty is on the line in Lisbon, and I expect Portugal to regain the winning touch in front of an expectant home crowd.

A home win with at least two goals scored is my best bet for what promises to be a fascinating Sunday night duel at the Estádio José Alvalade.
