A competitive contest can be expected as Portsmouth go in search of their first Championship victory of the season against a WBA side in good early-season form.

Four games into the campaign, Pompey come into this weekend's contest after being held to draws in their first three Championship fixtures before a 3:1 home defeat against Sunderland last time out. 

Despite their failure to score a victory, John Mousinho´s side have performed well on their return to the second-tier for the first time since 2012. Away draws at Leeds (3:3) and Middlesbrough (2:2) suggest Pompey have the quality to compete in this division.

Visiting WBA have made a strong start to their campaign, with three wins and one draw collected from their first four games of the season. Carlos Corberan´s side did suffer a disappointing 2:1 defeat at Fleetwood in the League Cup.

Away form proved a big issue for WBA last season with just two wins recorded in their last 13 road trips at the end of the campaign. However, the Baggies have picked up victories in their first two away games this season at QPR (3:1) and Stoke City (2:1).

Still, defensive vulnerabilities remain, with the visitors failing to keep a clean sheet in 14 of their last 15 away Championship matches. Nine of their ten most recent away games saw BTTS and I like the chances of a similar outcome this weekend. 

While WBA are favourites for the points, Portsmouth cannot be under-estimed, so I'm putting my money on BTTS at Fratton Park.
