It seems like the Polish national team is gradually weakening year by year, as evidenced by their flabby performance in the qualifiers, where they had to settle for a third-place finish in a not-so-challenging group, finishing behind the mediocre duo of Albania and the Czech Republic. 

Following their third-place finish, Robert Lewandowski and his teammates were forced into two additional matches, first hammering Estonia 5-1 before overcoming Wales in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 5-4 to secure their fifth consecutive appearance on the EURO stage.

The Eagles, as mentioned, will lock horns with the mighty Netherlands in the tournament opener, a national team that has fully lived up to its expectations during the qualifying rounds and effortlessly marched to its 10th appearance at the European Championship out of the previous 12 editions. 

Despite suffering defeats to France on both occasions during the Euro 2024 qualifiers, Ronald Koeman's chosen ones' journey to the final was never in question, as the Oranje claimed victory in all six other group matches, securing second place behind the untouchable Gaelic Roosters, whom they will meet again in Germany on matchday two.

Taking a look at their recent head-to-head encounters, it's evident that these matchups have largely been one-sided affairs in favor of the Netherlands, condemning Poland to defeat in six out of their last seven H2H showdowns, so we believe that the Oranje can kick off their Euro campaign with a flying start. 

Furthermore, the Eagles' overall performance throughout the qualifying campaign was nothing short of disappointing, as they only managed to scraped three winning results, two of which came against the hapless Faroe Islands, serving as yet another confirmation that the Polish national team is on a steep downward trajectory.
