- Competition: Football League One
- Date: 28th January 2025
- Kick-off: 19:45 UTC / 20:45 CET
- Venue: ABAX Stadium
Two sides in the bottom nine of the Football League One meet on Tuesday evening as Peterborough United welcome Wigan Athletic to the ABAX Stadium.
Peterborough United have not won in the league since 14 December. The Posh take an eight-match winless run in Football League One into Tuesday's clash with four defeats. But having avoided defeat in each of their last two home games, they will fancy their chances of getting something out of Tuesday's game.
Wigan Athletic, meanwhile, picked up some important wins in the last two weeks or so. The most recent victory of the Lactics came on Saturday afternoon when they beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the DW Stadium. Shaun Maloney's side have now won three of their last four matches, scoring exactly two goals in all three encounters and will be looking to maintain that form on Tuesday.
Peterborough vs Wigan Athletic Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Defensively, Peterborough United have been anything but good in recent weeks. The hosts kept just one clean sheet in their last ten games in all competitions and shipped five goals against Lincoln City last time out. Darren Ferguson's side also conceded exactly three goals in their last two meetings with Wigan Athletic.
The visitors did keep a clean sheet against Bristol Rovers last time out, but that was a rare defensive masterclass. In fact, Maloney's men kept just one clean sheet in their last seven matches, with the last two ending in 2+ goals.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Peterborough vs Wigan Athletic prediction: 1-2

Peterborough team news
Kwame Poku has last featured for Peterborough United since December due to a hamstring injury and Tuesday’s game will come too soon for the winger.
Having all been withdrawn at the start of the second half in the defeat to Lincoln City last time out, Archie Finn Collins, Carl Johnston and Malik Mothersille are unlikely to return to the XI on Tuesday.

Wigan Athletic team news
Joe Adams remains unavailable to Wigan Athletic due to a long term cruciate ligament injury and head coach Shaun Maloney has more than five other players out.
The list includes Tyrese Francois (ankle), Kai Payne (knee) Dion Rankine, Matt Smith, Baba Adeeko (all hamstring) and Luke Chambers (back).
Having come off the bench to score against Bristol Rovers last time out, Jonny Smith will be pushing for a place in the XI and the midfielder is the only change boss Shaun Maloney could make on Tuesday.
