The Stadio Toumbas  plays host to Champions League Football on Wednesday evening as PAOK Thessaloniki takes on Borac Banja Luca.

PAOK come into Wednesday's contest as overwhelming favourites to clean their place in the next round of the Champions League qualification process. 

Last season's Greek champions, PAOK have endured a tough preseason campaign which has seen them lose each of their last three friendlies, Including a 2:1 defeat at Dutch side Vitesse last week.

Returning to the champions league for the first time since 2020, PAOK have a remarkable record  in this competition. Each of PAOK´s last nine home matches in the UCL saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored.  In fact,  only three of 20 previous matches in this competition did not see both teams scoring while an average of 3.7 goals have been scored in their last 10 home UCL encounters.

Borac Banja Luka make the trip to Stadio Toumbas for their third-ever appearance in UCL qualification. The Bosnians secured their place in Wednesday's tie with a penalty shootout victory against Egnatia Rrogozhinë in round one. 

On the road, the Bosnian side have also seen plenty of high-scoring UCL contests in the past. Since 2011, Borac saw all three previous away UCL games finish in high-scoring losses. 

More recently, Borac have seen over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven away matches, and another high-scorer seems likely on Wednesday.

With home advantage, and much more experience of this competition, PAOK should prove far too strong for their Bosnian visitors. I'm backing  the home team to win with an expectation of at least three goals scored at Stadio Toumbas.
