One of the rare international games left to be played in 2024 is the African Nations Championship qualifications between Nigeria and Ghana. Neither Nigeria nor Ghana lifts the trophy in the tournament, in which the teams play only with players from the national league. In the first leg in Accra last week, it was 0-0. 

Nigeria can have mixed feelings about their national team in 2024. While they didn't have too many problems qualifying for the next Africa Cup of Nations, in the World Cup qualifications, the Super Eagles collected only three points in the first four rounds, so Nigeria is four points behind the group leaders. Nigeria are on a run of three games without a win and hopes to break the bad streak on Saturday against Ghana. 

Ghana didn't impress in the 2024, either. Shockingly, they will miss the next Africa Cup of Nations after winning only three points in the qualifications and finishing last in the group. On the other hand, Ghana are playing well in the World Cup qualifications, where they collected nine points after four matches. Ghana won only one of the last eight matches and they urgently need a good result to regain some confidence.

These two teams played the first leg only a few days ago. The first game was extremely dull, with only three shots on target. Both sides lack quality in the attack, and we should expect another low-scoring tie.
