Two Italian top flight sides who haven’t quite been as good as last season face off this weekend as Napoli play host to AS Roma.
Winning the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years and reaching the quarter finals of the Champions League was an overachievement for Napoli last season. The Blues were always going to have a hard time repeating that form this season but their performances so far have been nothing but that of reigning champions. Napoli currently sit outside the top seven and enter this clash with just one win from their last seven games in all competitions.
Roma have been good at times this season, especially in Europe where they are in the last two, but there is still a lot to do to save their campaign. The Yellow and Reds were last in action against Bologna at home Stadio Olimpico where they suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat, ending a run of five games unbeaten in all competitions. Daniele De Rossi’s side will be eager for a response this weekend, but they face a Napoli side they have not beaten away from home since 2018.
Betting Tips Napoli vs AS Roma: Napoli to win & Under 2.5 goals
Despite the tough season which Napoli have been through, I have noticed that they have showed signs of champions when playing at home in most of their games. The Gli Azzuri have suffered defeat just once in their last nine outings and also have good record against Roma at this ground.
As far as goals are concerned, meetings between Napoli and Roma are known for being very close. Five of the last six meetings ended with Under 2.5 goals and most of the recent games of the visitors were not also entertaining.
- Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
- Napoli vs AS Roma prediction: 1-0

Napoli team news
Mário Rui will be available to Napoli head coach Francesco Calzona this weekend after serving a one match ban for accumulation of bookings.
Mathías Olivera has missed the last three games with an adductor injury and left back will miss Sunday’s game but the visitors have no other absentees.
Victor Osimhen boast just one goal from the last six home games of Napoli, but the Nigerian forward is expected to retain the responsibilities of leading the line and should be supported upfront by Kvaratskhelia and Politano.
