On Wednesday afternoon, Namibia and Seychelles will face off against each other in the 3rd round of the Group phase at the COSAFA Cup at Wolfson Stadium in Ibhayi, South Africa.

Namibia are #98 on the FIFA World Ranking List and #22 in the Africa Region from 53 national teams. In the last COSAFA, Namibia finished the competition in the group phase but started this one great with four points in the first two rounds and are on a level with points with Angola. Even though they have the same goal difference, Namibia have an advantage right now due to scoring more goals. So, in the last game, it is important to win, but it is also important to win by as many goals as possible for both Namibia and Angola.

On the other hand, Seychelles are one of the weakest national teams in the World. Currently, they are #201 out of 210 teams, and that doesn't seem likely to change any time soon. But, considering the size of the country, that lack of success shouldn't really surprise us. In the previous COSAFA Cup, they finished the competition with all three losses and also did really poorly in the World Cup Qualifiers, where they lost all four first games. In this season's COSAFA Cup, they are 3rd in the group with one point in two games. If they somehow win the match against Namibia, they would have great chances of reaching the next stage, but that will surely be a challenge.

Namibia vs Seychelles pick: Namibia to win and cover the -1 AH spread

In the previous AFCON and WC Qualifiers, Namibia proved they can play against the best teams in Africa. They even drew (0:0) and beat Tunisia 1:0 in two games against them. If we look at their results in almost a year, Namibia have lost only against Angola and South Africa in 14 matches in all competitions. So, we expect they will do well against one of the worst teams in the World.

On the other hand, Seychelles' only good result in the last nine games was against Lesotho, where they managed to draw 1:1. Still, they were outplayed even in that match and were lucky to secure a point, in our opinion. Additionally, Seychelles lost by at least two goals difference in seven of those eight losses.

These teams last met in the COSAFA Cup in 2019 when Namibia simply demolished them 3:0. The difference in form and overall quality is entirely on Namibia's side, and anything but a big win for them would be a massive surprise for us.
