Reims will try to move further away from the bottom three with a win when they travel to Monaco this week.

Monaco lost 2-1 to Lille last weekend in yet another example of how inconsistent Adi Hütter's men have been this season. Having beaten Nantes 7-1, the Red and Whites were expected to brush aside Lille, but instead found themselves two goals down after 43 minutes. Takumi Minamino pulled one back on the stroke of half-time, but they couldn't find the net in the second half.

Reims were lauded after their draw at record champions PSG on 25 January, but Les Rouges et Blancs have since disappeared from view. Samba Diawara's men go into Friday's game on a run of four successive league defeats and also failed to find the back of the net in all but one of those encounters.

Monaco vs Reims Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

Monaco just can't seem to get their defensive act together at the moment. The hosts boast just one clean sheet in 2025 and shipped 2+ goals in seven of their last eight games across all competitions. Bets on over 2.5 goals resulted in wins in as many of those matches.

The visitors are also struggling at the moment with Samba Diawara’s side without a clean sheet in their last eight Ligue 1 matches. They conceded under one goal in half of those encounters but most recent meetings between Monaco and Reims were fruitful as four of the last seven produced 3+ goals.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Monaco vs Reims prediction: 2-1

Monaco team news

Monaco head coach Adi Hütter is expected to make changes to the side that was beaten by Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy last weekend.

Having featured just as a substitute in that game, Swiss professional Breel Embolo is among those who could be promoted to the XI.

Folarin Balogun, Jordan Teze, Aleksandr Golovin and Soungoutou Magassa are all ruled out for the hosts this week through injury.

Reims team news

The dismissals of Hafiz Umar Ibrahim and Cédric Kipré last week mean that Reims have now received three red cards in their last two Ligue 1 games.

Eloge Patrick Zabi Gueu will serve the last of his two-game ban, while Hafiz Umar Ibrahim will serve a one match ban on Thursday.

Friday's game will come too soon for Reda Khadra (cruciate ligament), Mohamed Daramy (knee) and Jordan (hamstring) through injury.
