A vital clash in the fight for Premier League promotion takes places at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday evening as Middlesbrough hosts Leeds in a Championship contest.

Middlesbrough vs Leeds Betting Tips - Middlesbrough or Draw

The race for promotion from the Championship enters its final stretch with both sides very much in contention to return to the top flight next season.

While Leeds remains in the race for automatic promotion, Middlesbrough strengthened their bid for a playoff spot with a 2:0 win on the road at Blackburn on Friday evening. A fine run of form has seen the Boro pick up ten points from their last four Championship outings.

Strong at the Riverside, Michael Carrick’s side won six and lost only two of their last 11 home fixtures. Up to fifth in the division and inside the playoff zone, Middlesbrough are one of several sides competing for two remaining available playoff spots.

Leeds make the trip north in less convincing form having now failed to win each of their last three Championship matches. Daniel Farke’s side were held to a frustrating 1:1 draw at Luton on Saturday, and have now dropped to third in the division, two points behind league leaders Burnley.

With just one win in their last six league fixtures, Leeds`now find themselves locked ina three-way fight with Burnley and Sheffield United in the battle to secure Premier League football next season.

Away from home, the Lilywhites have not been at their best in 2025. Leeds failed to win five of eight road games played since the turn of the year, including each of their last three away fixtures. Farke’s men slipped to a 1:0 defeat at Portsmouth before a 2:2 draw against QPR last month ahead of last tweekend’s dropped points at Luton.

Leeds have had the better of recent encounters with Middlesbrough, but recent form makes it tough to back the visitors on Tuesday.

Instead, I'm putting my money on the hosts to avoid defeat at a big price. Boro’s decent home record and Leeds away struggles suggest the visitors are somewhat overpriced to find their winning touch on Tuesday.

A home win or draw is my best bet at the Riverside.
