After a terrible previous season and only eighth position in Ligue 1, Marseille are back on track with 29 points from the first 14 league rounds. That is not enough to be the league leader (five points behind PSG), but they still look like at least the top-four team this year. Marseille are on a good run with three wins in a row. Last weekend, they won 2-0 on the road against St. Etienne. Guests dominated from the start. In the end, Marseille had 69% ball possession and 18 shots on the goal more than the opponent, so it is no wonder Roberto De Zerbi's team secured another victory. 

Lille's goal for the 2024/25 season is similar to Marseille's, as they also aim for a top-four finish. After a slow start, Lille have not lost since September, so they have propelled themselves to fourth position. Bruno Genesio's team is playing well in the Champions League, too, as it seems realistic for Lille to qualify for the 1/8 final phase.   Lille's last match was on Wednesday when they won 3-2 at home against Sturm Graz. The home side had problems to break the stubborn opponents, but Hakon Haraldson's late goal sealed all three points for Genesio's squad. 

Marseille vs Lille pick: Over 2.5 goals

Marseille scored 15 goals in the last seven matches. On the other hand, Lille scored ten goals in the previous four games. We should expect three or more goals in Saturday's game in Marseille.
