An entertaining and competitive UEFA Women's Champions League contest can be expected as Manchester City and Chelsea lock horns. A remarkable quirk of fate sees the Women's Super League rivals face each for the 2nd of four successive fixtures scheduled this month.

Man City boast a strong home record in this competition over the past 12 months, with four victories picked up from four games. However, Chelsea have proven their quality in the UCL in 2024, particularly in away fixtures with seven successive wins claimed on their travels over the past 12 months.

Chelsea make the trip to Manchester as narrow favourites after a 2:1 win in their League Cup Final clash against City on Saturday. Yui Hasegawa´s late own-goal broke the Citizens hearts as Sonia Bompastor´s side secured the glory at Pride Park. 

Both teams have seen plenty of high-scoring outcomes in recent weeks, and another end-to-end encounter seems likely this week. Man City have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last 11 matches across all competitions. 

Similarly, the Blues have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in five of their six most recent fixtures, and in each of their last three away UCL matches. 

With both teams offering plenty of attacking quality, I expect goals at both ends on Wednesday. BTTS is my best bet for what promises to be an intriguing contest in Manchester.
