Manchester City return to Premier League business after a dramatic defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Having led for much of the second half, two goals conceded in the dying embers condemned the Citizens to a 3:2 home reversal. 

No longer the dominant force of years gone by, City have now lost 12 of their last 24 games played since the end of October. Defensive issues remain with Pep Guardiola's men conceding at least one goal in all but four of their 24 previous matches. 

As a result, the EPL champions have become a great choice of goal backers. Each of Man City's last six games saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored. A minimum of three goals was scored in each of their ten previous fixtures. 

At the Etihad, 12 of 15 previous Premier League fixtures saw BTTS, with City failing to keep a clean sheet in 13 of those games. 

Newcastle return to EPL action in high spirits having picked up victories against Arsenal (2:0) and Birmingham (3:2) in the League Cup and FA Cup respectively. 

Deadlocked with Man City on 41 points, the Magpies could climb above their hosts with victory on Saturday. Eddie Howe´s in-form side claimed wins in each of their last six road games, including impressive victories against Manchester Utd, Tottehham and Arsenal. 

Free-flowing in attack, Newcastle scored at least two goals in eight of their last nine road games since November. However, like the hosts, clean sheets have been rare, with seven of ten previous away fixtures seeing BTTS.

Considering the numbers mentioned above, I'm confident we will see BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored on Saturday. I also expect Newcastle to score at least two goals against a City side feeling the pressure after their midweek UCL defeat.
